Who do Narra Care Services recruit?

We are currently supplying to clients in the Belfast Area and North Down and Ards Area. .

How can I register with Narra Care Services?

You can register your interest by selecting the “JOIN US” section on our website and completing the online form. You can also contact us by telephone, email, or Facebook with any questions and someone will reply to you as quickly as possible.

How long does it take to register with Narra Care Services?

The length of time the Registration process takes will depend on several factors, such as:
– How long it takes Access NI to process the application.
– How long it takes the Referees to return references.
– How long it takes the Applicant to complete the mandatory training.
– How long it takes the Applicant to complete induction/supervision.
We will endeavour to ensure that all applicants complete the recruitment/registration process as soon as possible.

How much experience do I need before I can work the agency?

Our preference is that you will have at least 3 months continuous experience within the last year or more than 6 months experience within the last three years. We may, however, offer applicants without any experience, but who show an enthusiasm and commitment to work in care, a pathway into care giving.

Do you have to pay for Training?

All mandatory training (online and practical) is provided free of charge. Optional additional free training is also made available online, to all registrants wanting to improve their knowledge.

I have training certificates from another agency/employer. Will Narra Care Services accept these training certificates and permit me to work?

Narra Care Services needs to ensure that the quality of the training you have received is adequate and up to the standard that we expect. Therefore, we are not able to accept any training certificates that you may be in possession of, unless it is with a training provider that we currently use or are satisfied with.

What are your rates of pay?

You will be advised of your hourly rate prior to accepting shifts. Enhancements are paid for working nights, weekends, and bank holidays.

Do I receive Holiday pay?

Holiday pay is included in your hourly rate as illustrated in the Key Information Document (KID) that will be provided to you during registration.

What settings do you offer work in?

Our main area of expertise is in the private sector where we currently offer shifts in Nursing Homes and Residential homes.

What shift patterns do you offer?

Generally, our clients request us to provide cover for standard shift patterns 24 hours a day seven days a week. These are as follows: – Day shift 08:00 – 20:00 – Night Shift 20:00 – 08:00 Occasionally we may receive a request for a slight variation of the usual shift pattern.

Do I need to drive?

No, there is no requirement for anyone registered with the employment agency to drive. Prior to accepting any shift, you must ensure that you have the means to get to the jobsite.

Will I receive travel allowance?

No, we do not offer travel allowances.

Do I have to complete a minimum number of shifts to remain active as a member?

We would hope that you complete at least one shift each month, however you are under no obligation to take a shift. Members who are actively taking shifts on a regular basis will be prioritised when shifts are being allocated/offered.

Do you guarantee hours?

As an employment agency we are unable to guarantee full time or part time hours for any of our registrants. What we can guarantee, is that we will endeavour to offer our registrants, as many shifts as they require.

Are there any costs involved during registration with Narra Care Services?

The registrant will need to consider the following costs: – Enhanced Access NI disclosure which costs £33. Registration with The Northern Ireland Social Care Council. If you are not registered, you must apply to join within two weeks of commencing work with Narra Care Services. The annual fee is currently £30 and is payable directly to NISCC. Uniform. Narra Care Services will provide each registrant with a tunic free of charge. These tunics will be replaced on an annual basis or sooner at the discretion of the company. Any additional tunics required can be purchased through the office.
